Bruschi
|
Meet Bruschi, a stunning 5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd-Border Collie mix. Weighing in at 84 pounds, Bruschi is quite the playful gentle giant. He enjoys playing with rope toys, chasing bright yellow tennis balls, chomping down on squeaky toys, and getting a nice belly or back rub! Bruschi also likes to take daily walks to explore the neighborhood and take in all the sights and sounds. He would love to be part of a family with a great big yard where he can stretch his legs and run like the wind! You'll be amazed at how gracefully he leaps and bounds through the air. Bruschi is also quite the social butterfly. In addition to being a super sweet and athletic guy, Bruschi is also super talented! He's house trained and leash trained. After living in the shelter, it might take Bruschi a couple of weeks to remember all his house-training skills in his new adoptive home, but with patience and positive reinforcement, he knows he can adjust well to house training again. Bruschi's previous owners surrendered him to the SPCA of Texas on Sept. 9 due to an impending divorce. Although he misses them, he knows he'll find his forever family soon. Come and see Bruschi soon so he can steal your heart forever! #107940

Meet Lanora, a 2-year-old female Domestic Shorthair kitty with beautiful hazel eyes and a lovely brown and white tabby coat. Isn't she beautiful? This sweet girl was transferred to the SPCA of Texas from the Louisiana SPCA at the end of August so she could be kept safe from the hurricanes. Lanora has been at the SPCA of Texas for more than a month now, and everyone has noticed how well she gets along with other kitties. She also doesn't seem to mind kids and will even let them hold her if they're gentle. Lanora is playful, curious and quietly attentive. While she's enjoying her stay here at the SPCA of Texas, Lanora would much prefer to find a home to call her own. Won't you come meet her today? #107441

Meet Jessie, a beautiful 1-year-old Hound mix with stunning brindle markings. This sweet girl is already housebroken, crate trained, and obedience trained, and she does well with kids over 12 years old, as well as with cats. Though she's good with other pups, she is selective in her choice of canine companions. Jessie loves to have fun and play, and absolutely loves moderate exercise and nights full of cuddling. So what are you waiting for? Come meet this sweet girl soon! #96887
Here’s Meeko, a handsome 6-year-old Domestic Longhair boy with a stunning buff and white coat. Meeko's previous owners say that he is a big lap cat who loves to be scratched on his fluffy neck. He's very passive and loves to be carried like a baby. Meeko's favorite toys are strings, and he also gets along well with other kitty companions, dogs and children. He's the perfect kitty for any home, so come meet this precious boy soon! #1042

Fall for Fostering
Fostering animals is one of the most important tasks here at the SPCA of Texas. Not only do some of our animals need time to grow and become independent of their mothers, but there are also animals who could use a few weeks to adjust to life in a home with people and even other pets.
Our fostering program gives our volunteers a chance to care for our animals in the comfort of their own homes. These amazing volunteers give our animals that are not quite ready for adoption, the chance to live and be loved. In an effort to expand our fostering program, the SPCA of Texas is hosting a special event for prospective fostering families.
From noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, the SPCA of Texas will host “Fall for Fostering,” an event for those looking for more information about fostering animals. We’re excited to invite the public to our Jan Rees-Jones location in Dallas, where our behavior staff will provide future fosters with everything they need to know to succeed as an SPCA of Texas foster parent. We’ll provide snacks, drinks and even have applications handy for those interested in signing up that day. For more information, log on to www.spca.org or call 214-742-SPCA (7722).
