Question: How do I combat ice?

Answer: Ice doesn't damage plants from its cold. It breaks their branches and causes them to become misshapen. Your best defense, then, is to have your trees cabled so that branches will support one another. Prop up suspect branches during ice storms. Don't brush against shrubs and groundcovers that are encased in ice lest you break them.
