Question: How do I prune my grapes?

Answer: Prune grapes very heavily in late winter. You will want to remove as much as 85 percent of the cane growth, trimming the plants to train their canes along their wire trellises. This pruning is essential in keeping the plants compact, also in limiting the number of fruit clusters each plant produces.
